Bottesford Preceptory

Bottesford Preceptory, Lincolnshire was sited just to the south of Scunthorpe, in Lindsey. It lay in a small valley in the Lincolnshire limestone ridge called the Lincoln Cliff. The word 'preceptory' is used for the community of the Knights Templar which lived on one of the order's estates in the charge of its preceptor. From that its meaning was extended to include the estate and its buildings. The present Bottesford Manor house is believed to have been the gatehouse to the preceptory.

M180 motorway

The M180 is a short but major (25 miles) motorway in England from junction 5 on the M18 motorway in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster to a point close to Humberside Airport some 5 miles from the ports of Immingham and Grimsby and the east coast and provides access for major routes to Cleethorpes, Grimsby, Hull, Immingham, Lincoln, Scunthorpe and also provides major access for Humberside Airport and the Killingholme Oil Refineries.

Ashby Parkland

Ashby Parkland is a civil parish in North Lincolnshire, England. The parish was created on April 1, 2004, and was previously part of the Burringham parish. The parish consists of a few fields and hamlets to the immediate west of Scunthorpe, and to the east of the M181, which marks the border with Burringham.

Plowright Theatre

The Plowright Theatre, is a live entertainment venue on Laneham Street in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. It is owned by North Lincolnshire Council and managed by SMG-Europe. It is the Sister Venue to the Baths Hall located on Doncaster Road in Scunthorpe. The Plowright Theatre was commissioned by the former Scunthorpe Borough Council and built by J. W. Taylor in 1958. It is a traditional proscenium style theatre with a 354 seat auditorium.
