Clashindarroch Forest

Clashindarroch Forest is possibly the largest forest in Aberdeenshire, situated to the south-west of the market town of Huntly. Managed by Forest Enterprise. Location of a series of trails for Nordic Skiing managed by the Nordic Ski Centre. As of 2006, there is a proposal to construct a 47 turbine windfarm in the Forest which is the subject of a Public Inquiry in May 2006.

Auchindoun Castle

Auchindoun Castle is a 15th century L-Plan tower castle located in Auchindoun near Dufftown in the Moray region of Scotland. While there is evidence of prehistoric, probably Pictish earthworks in the grounds of the castle, the remains most visible today are of the castle constructed in the mid-15th century by Thomas Cochran (later to become an Earl of Mar . It was passed to the Clan Ogilvy in 1489 and from them to the Clan Gordon in 1535.

River Fiddich

The River Fiddich (Scottish Gaelic: Fiodhach / Abhainn Fhiodhaich) is a right bank tributary of the River Spey in northeast Scotland. It rises on the eastern slopes of Corriehabbie Hill in Glenfiddich Forest and flows northeastwards beneath the A941 road, past Auchindown Castle to a sharp bend adjacent to the A920 road where it turns westwards to flow to Dufftown. The Fiddich is joined on the eastern edge of the town by the Dullan Water which drains Glen Rinnes.

Badenyon

Badenyon is a former clachan, or village, in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The last farming inhabitant of Badenyon, Jeanie Farquarson, died in the early 1970s. Badenyon is now owned by the Blaxter family and is the host of the great Badenyon Boat Race which has been going for several years.
