Kilchoman distillery

The Kilchoman Distillery is a distillery that produces single malt Scotch whisky on Islay, an island of the Inner Hebrides. The distillery is situated on the western side of Islay, near the small settlement of Kilchoman. The location made it the most westerly distillery in Scotland, until the Abhainn Dearg Distillery started distilling on the Isle of Lewis, which now makes them the most westerly distillery.

Loch Gorm Castle

Loch Gorm Castle is a ruined castle located on the isle of Eilean Mór on Loch Gorm, Islay, Scotland. It was once a stronghold of Clan Macdonald. The castle was square, with a round bastion at each corner. The castle was occupied temporarily by Sir Lachlan Mor Maclean of Duart who was besieged in 1578 by the MacDonalds with the assistance of the Colin Campbell, 6th Earl of Argyll. Ruinous from 1586, royal forces led by Andrew Stuart, 3rd Lord Ochiltree demolished the castle in 1608.

Bruichladdich distillery

Bruichladdich Distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery on the Rhinns of the isle of Islay. It is one of nine working distilleries on the island. One interpretation of the Gaelic word Bruichladdich is "stony shore bank", referring to a post-glacial raised beach, though an alternative, perhaps more pertinent translation may be "rocky lee shore".

Rinns of Islay

The Rinns of Islay is an area on the west of the island of Islay in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. It is a peninsula that is attached to the main body of the island at its northern end. The main population centres are Port Charlotte and Portnahaven, based on the A847 that runs along its eastern coast. It is designated a Special Protection Area due to its importance for a number of breeding and wintering birds, particularly Greenland White-fronted Goose and Chough.

Port Charlotte distillery

Port Charlotte is a Scotch whisky distillery on the island of Islay, off the west coast of Scotland. The distillery is based in the village of Port Charlotte on the grounds of the former Lochindaal Distillery two miles southwest from the Bruichladdich distillery. The distilling equipment comes from the former Inverleven Distillery, Dumbarton, which was demolished in 2003. The equipment was dismantled and shipped to the island by barge.
