Eastfield, Glasgow

Eastfield is a residential district sandwiched between the South Lanarkshire towns of Rutherglen and Cambuslang in the south-east of the Greater Glasgow urban area. It is situated south of the River Clyde. Formerly a country estate between the two industrial towns of Rutherglen and Cambuslang, Eastfield was developed with housing between the 1930s and 1960s.

Toryglen

Toryglen is a small district in southern Glasgow, Scotland. It is approximately 2 miles south of the city centre to the west of Rutherglen. It is bounded to the west by Mount Florida, the north by Oatlands and the south by King's Park. The name 'Torryglen' first appeared on maps in the late 18th century and was a small farmhouse in the north of the present day area.

Murder of Kriss Donald

Kriss Donald (2 July 1988 – 15 March 2004) was a Scottish fifteen-year-old white male who was kidnapped, tortured and murdered in Glasgow in 2004 by a gang of men of Pakistani descent, some of whom fled to Pakistan after the crime. Daanish Zahid, Imran Shahid, Zeeshan Shahid, and Mohammed Faisal Mustaq were later found guilty of racially motivated murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. A fifth participant in the crime was convicted of racially motivated violence and jailed for five years.

Oatlands, Glasgow

Oatlands is a district in the Scottish city of Glasgow. It is situated south of the River Clyde. Until recently, the area was characterised by four-storey sandstone tenements built at the end of the 19th century and the start of the 20th. A continuous line of tenements faced Richmond Park, opened in 1899, across busy Rutherglen Road, one of Glasgow's main arterial routes.
