Cedar Ridge Middle School

Cedar Ridge Middle School is a middle school located in Decatur, Alabama, in the Decatur City Schools school system. It has approximately 700 students enrolled and teaches grades 6 through 8. The schools mascot, once the Cubs, is now the Black Bears. This change was instituted in order to match Austin High School. It is one of three middle schools in the city, the others being Brookhaven Middle School and Oak Park Middle School.

Decatur is a city in Morgan and Limestone Counties in the U.S. state of Alabama. The city, affectionately known as "The River City", is located in Northern Alabama on the banks of Wheeler Lake, along the Tennessee River. It is the largest city and county seat of Morgan County. The population in 2010 census was 55,683. Decatur is also the core city of the two-county large Decatur Metropolitan Area which had 150,125 in 2006.

The 2008 estimate population is 150,125, one third of which resides within the boundaries of its core city, Decatur, Alabama. The metro area is the combined area of the City of Decatur and the surrounding areas in suburban, rural, and more developed parts of Morgan and Lawrence Counties. It is also considered to be part of the North, Northwest, and North-Central regions of Alabama.
