Peridot Mesa

The Peridot Mesa vent is a part of the San Carlos volcanic field located in San Carlos, Arizona, USA on the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. The mesa is about 3 km in diameter and is capped by a basalt flow 3 to 6 meters thick that originated from a volcanic cone located in the Southwest corner of the mesa. The flow which surrounds this vent is of special interest to igneous petrologists due to several unique qualities including the extremely high concentration of xenoliths.

San Carlos, Arizona

San Carlos is a census-designated place (CDP) in Gila County, Arizona, United States. The population was 3,716 at the 2000 census. San Carlos is the largest community in and the seat of government for the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. San Carlos' economy is underdeveloped and is based mainly on retail service industries, construction trades, and public administration.

San Carlos Lake

San Carlos Lake was formed by the construction of the Coolidge Dam and is rimmed by 158 miles of shoreline. The lake is located within the 3,000-square-mile San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation, and is thus subject to tribal regulations. After it was built, the reservoir filled gradually. Because of irrigation needs, the water level at the lake sometimes is low enough to kill its self-sustaining fish, but during wet years, the water can overtop Coolidge Dam.

San Carlos Apache Airport

San Carlos Apache Airport is a public use airport located seven nautical miles southeast of the central business district of Globe, a city in Gila County, Arizona, United States. The airport is owned by the San Carlos Apache Tribe. It is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation airport.
