Bear Creek (Santa Ana River)

Bear Creek is an approximately 17-mile tributary of the Santa Ana River in the San Bernardino Mountains of the U.S. state of California. Its length is entirely contained within San Bernardino County. It rises near Woodlands and flows north into Baldwin Lake. From there it flows west past the city of Big Bear Lake into Bear Valley, where since 1912 it has been impounded by a dam to form Big Bear Lake.

The San Bernardino meridian, established in 1852, is one of three Principal meridians in the state of California. Because of the state's shape, three meridian–baseline sets are required for surveys in all parts of the state. The San Bernardino meridian is used for Southern California, and some townships in Arizona are also referenced to it. The initial point (datum) is at the summit of Mount San Bernardino, in the San Bernardino Mountains, in San Bernardino County, California.

Christopher Dorner

Christopher Jordan Dorner (June 4, 1979 – February 12, 2013) was an ex-LAPD police officer and former United States Navy reservist who was charged in connection with a series of shooting attacks on police officers and their families from February 3–12, 2013. The attacks left four people dead, including two police officers, and left three police officers wounded. Dorner was the subject of one of the largest manhunts in LAPD history, spanning two U.S. states and Mexico.
