Coral Gables /ˌkɒrəl ˈɡeɪbəlz/ is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, southwest of Downtown Miami, in the United States. The city is home to the University of Miami. The population was 47,401 according to 2012 estimates by the Nielsen Company. According to U. S Census estimates in 2005, the city had a population of 42,871.

University is a Metrorail station in the suburban city of Coral Gables, Florida at the University of Miami (UM), seven miles southwest of Downtown Miami. This station, opened to service May 20, 1984, is located along Ponce de Leon Boulevard at the intersection of South Dixie Highway and Mariposa Court.
