Little Manatee River

The Little Manatee River flows almost 40 miles, from east of Fort Lonesome, Florida through southern Hillsborough County, Florida and northern Manatee County, Florida into Tampa Bay. It has a drainage basin of 222 square miles . It flows along the Little Manatee River State Park for part of its route. Portions of the river have been designated as an Outstanding Florida Water and are part of the Cockroach Bay Aquatic Preserve.

The Center for Advanced Technologies (CAT) is a public magnet program in St. Petersburg, Florida, attached to Lakewood High School and part of the Pinellas County Schools district. Its primary focus is mathematics, science, and technology. It is a member of the National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology (NCSSSMST) and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Lakewood High School (Florida)

Lakewood High School is a public high school in St. Petersburg, Florida operated by Pinellas County Schools. It opened in 1967 with students previously attending St. Petersburg High School and Boca Ciega High School. As of 2006, due to its 54% minority population, Lakewood High was known as one of the most diverse schools in Pinellas County. It was also one of the most highly-funded, due to the Center for Advanced Technologies, a magnet program attached to Lakewood.

Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay is a large, natural harbor and estuary along the Gulf of Mexico on the west central coast of Florida, comprising Hillsborough Bay, Old Tampa Bay, Middle Tampa Bay, and Lower Tampa Bay. "Tampa Bay" is not the name of any municipality. This misconception probably stems from the names of several local professional sports franchises which seek to draw support from the entire Tampa Bay Area, the hub of which is the city of Tampa, Florida.
