Bartow, Georgia

Bartow is a town in Jefferson County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 286. Initially the town was known as "Spier's Turnout", but was changed to honor the first Confederate officer to die in battle, Colonel Francis S. Bartow of Savannah, Georgia, who was killed at the Battle of Manassas, Virginia on July 21, 1861.

Louisville, Georgia

Louisville is a city in Jefferson County, Georgia, United States. It is the former capital of Georgia and is the county seat of Jefferson County. It is located southwest of Augusta on the Ogeechee River, and its population was 2,712 at the 2000 census. Though the name is of French origin, it is pronounced "Lewis-ville. " Louisville was laid out in 1786 as a prospective state capital since Savannah was considered too far from the center of the growing state.
