Tornado (Adventureland)

The Tornado is a wooden roller coaster located at Adventureland in Altoona, Iowa, near Des Moines. The Tornado made its debut on July 4, 1978, during Adventureland's third full season. It was designed by William Cobb, and built in-house utilizing the Frontier Construction Company. Soon after its opening it was considered one of the top ten wooden roller coasters in the world.

The Dragon is an O.D. Hopkins steel roller coaster located at Adventureland in Altoona, Iowa, near Des Moines. The Dragon made its debut on May 12, 1991, during Adventureland's sixteenth full season. It cost an estimated $2.1 million dollars to build The Dragon. It is still Adventureland's only coaster which loops completely upside down.
