The Des Moines metropolitan area, officially known as the Des Moines-West Des Moines, IA Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), consists of five counties in central Iowa, United States: Polk, Dallas, Warren, Madison, and Guthrie. The 2010 census population of these counties was 569,633, and the 2011 estimated population was 580,255. Two additional counties, Jasper and Marion, are part of the Des Moines-Newton-Pella Combined Statistical Area (CSA).

Dale Maffitt Reservoir

Maffitt Lake is a reservoir in the four corners of Dallas County, Polk County, Warren County, and Madison County, Iowa. It is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:41.517|N|93.792|W|region:US_type:waterbody|||| | |name= }}. It is owned by the Des Moines Water Works that serves as an emergency water supply for the city of Des Moines, Iowa. In a drought emergency, the level of the Raccoon River could be brought up by draining water from the lake into the river.

Waukee Stadium

Waukee Stadium is a field located in Waukee, Iowa. It is the home field for Waukee High School's football games, soccer games, and track meets. Along with the high school's sports teams, the stadium is also a locale for a number of the high school's physical education programs. It previously hosted the Des Moines Menace soccer team. The stands on the west side of the stadium serve as the home bleachers and the east bleachers for the visitors.
