Savage River (Maryland)

The Savage River is a 29.5-mile-long river in Garrett County, Maryland, and is the first major tributary of the North Branch Potomac River from its source. The river was named for 18th century surveyor John Savage. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintains the Savage River Dam for flood control and recreation. It has trout fishing for brown trout, rainbow trout, brook trout and sometimes cutthroat trout.

Casselman River

The Casselman River is a 56.5-mile-long tributary of the Youghiogheny River in western Maryland and Pennsylvania in the United States. The Casselman River rises in Garrett County atop the plateau of western Maryland as two branches, the south one east of Meadow Mountain, the north one farther west, between Meadow Mountain and Negro Mountain. The two branches flow northward combining just southwest of Grantsville, Maryland.
