Pocomoke River State Park

Pocomoke River State Park is a state park of Maryland that lies on both banks of the Pocomoke River in Worcester County, located adjacent to the Pocomoke State Forest. The park is divided into two areas, Shad Landing on the south bank of the river, and Milburn Landing on the north bank. The park's combination of freshwater swamp and upland, as well as its location between northern and southern physiographic regions, allows for a great diversity of plant and animal life.

Pocomoke State Forest

Pocomoke State Forest is a state forest of Maryland that lies on both banks of the Pocomoke River in Worcester County. The portion north of the Pocomoke lies between Dividing and Nassawango Creeks. The Pocomoke River Wildlife Management Area borders the southern portion of the forest. With 14,753 acres wooded between Snow Hill and Pocomoke City, the state forest is famous for its stands of loblolly pine and for its cypress swamps, which border the Pocomoke River.

Furnace Town Living Heritage Museum

The Old Furnace Town Heritage Museum is an outdoor museum near Snow Hill Maryland that uses a living history format with live demonstrations to re-create a vanished 19th century community. The museum contains various historic buildings, including most importantly the Nassawango Iron Furnace, an early 19th-century brick blast furnace that was used to smelt bog iron ore to make pig iron.

Pocomoke River Wildlife Management Area

Pocomoke River Wildlife Management Area is a state wildlife management area (WMA) of Maryland that lies on the south bank of the Pocomoke River in Worcester County. The Pocomoke River State Forest abuts the northern edge of the WMA. The Pocomoke River WMA's 1,016-acre tract is a mixture of agricultural fields, woodlands, and wetlands located within the cypress swamp in south central Worcester County, north of Pocomoke City.
