Long Reach, Columbia, Maryland

Long Reach is one of ten villages comprising Columbia, Maryland, lying in the northeast part of Columbia along Maryland Route 108. Started in 1971, it is one of the oldest villages, and comprises four neighborhoods: Jeffers Hill, Kendall Ridge, Locust Park, and Phelps Luck with an approximate population of 17,000. The village is governed by five elected village board members through "Long Reach Community Association, Inc.

Oakland Mills High School

Oakland Mills High School was established in 1973 as one of the first high schools to serve the Columbia, Maryland area. It is part of the Howard County Public School System. The building had its first renovation in 1991, then again in 1998.
