Linganore Creek

Linganore Creek is a 13.5-mile-long tributary of the Monocacy River in Frederick County, Maryland. The stream is formed from the confluence of the north and south forks of the Linganore, about 10 miles east-northeast of the city of Frederick. The creek runs roughly southwest to the Monocacy River, which drains to the Potomac River. The watershed area of the creek is 83.1 square miles .

Unionville, Frederick County, Maryland

Unionville is an unincorporated community in Frederick County, Maryland, United States. It is located approximately halfway between Frederick and Westminster, just east of Libertytown off of MD Route 26 (Liberty Road). Pearre-Metcalfe House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Unionville is recognized as having experienced the world record amount of rain in a one minute period: 31.2 mm (1.23 in) on 4 July 1956.

Parr's Ridge

Parr's Ridge is a ridge which forms the summit of the Piedmont Plateau region in the U.S. state of Maryland. The ridge, a gentle summit by contrast to Maryland's Appalachian ridges to the west, extends from southwest to northeast through Montgomery, Howard and Carroll counties. The highest point in Maryland east of the Appalachian Mountains, Dug Hill in northern Carroll County, at an elevation of just over 1100 feet (335 m), is a mile or two to the west of the ridge.
