Roseville Avenue (NJT station)

Roseville Avenue was a transfer station on New Jersey Transit's Morris & Essex Lines in Newark, New Jersey, United States. The station was built by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad in 1903 during a track depression to serve Newark's Roseville neighborhood. It once had two tracks (one each eastbound and westbound) on the Lackawanna mainline and two low-wall platforms, with an additional platform along the Montclair-Boonton Line.

Roseville, Newark, New Jersey

Roseville is a neighborhood in northwestern Newark, New Jersey, bordering Bloomfield and East Orange. To the neighborhood's immediate east is the Newark City Subway and Branch Brook Park. Roseville is divided into Upper Roseville north of 3rd Ave and Lower Roseville south of 3rd Ave. Originally called "Rowesville," Roseville was farmland at the time of the Civil War, but during the conflict most of the area was turned into Union Army training and camping grounds.

Fairmount is a neighborhood in the West Ward of Newark, New Jersey. Its population is mostly African American, of varying economic statuses. Central Avenue is the major street, though its commerce is considerably reduced from the Industrial Era heyday. The neighborhood is officially bounded by South Orange Avenue on the south, the Garden State Parkway on the west, Interstate 280 on the north, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey on the east.

Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Newark, New Jersey

The Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, the fifth-largest cathedral in North America, is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. It is located at 89 Ridge Street in Newark, New Jersey. Envisioned as a "fitting monument to the faith," construction began in 1899 and was finished in 1954. The original design called for an English/Irish-gothic church, but plans were later modified in favor of a French-gothic style.
