Brighton, Syracuse, New York

Southside (also called Brighton) is one the 26 official neighborhoods in Syracuse, New York. South Salina Street and Midland Avenue run north–south through the neighborhood. The South Salina Street Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Onondaga Creek runs through the area to the west and Interstate 81 borders the area to the east. Schools in the neighborhood include McKinley–Brighton Elementary School, Danforth Middle School, and the William R. Beard School.

Manley Field House

Manley Field House is a multi-purpose arena in Syracuse, New York. The arena opened in 1962 and holds 9,500 people. It was home to the Syracuse Orange men's basketball team and indoor track team before they moved to Carrier Dome in 1980. Currently it hosts the women's volleyball team, as well as hosting the Indoor Track and Field meets for Section III high schools. It is named for Dr. George L.

Hiawatha Lake

Hiawatha Lake is a man-made lake originally created for use of swimming. It is located in Syracuse, New York, in Onondaga Park on the city's South Side along Roberts Avenue. Swimming was stopped because a series of accidental drownings in the 1970s. One side was filled back in and a modern swimming facility known as Onondaga Pool was built. It is still used for its picturesque quality and large gazebo. It often serves as a backdrop for prom and wedding photos.

Woodland Reservoir

Woodland Reservoir is a 121 million US gallons reservoir serving the City of Syracuse, New York. The reservoir was built in 1884 as the receiving end of the new water supply for Syracuse coming by a 19 mile (30 km) pipeline from the Skaneateles Lake. It was designated an American Water Landmark in 1977.
