Tonawanda (formally City of Tonawanda, from Tahnawá•teh meaning "confluent stream" in Tuscarora) is a city in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 15,130 at the 2010 census. It is located at the northern edge of Erie County, south across the Erie Canal from North Tonawanda, and north of Buffalo, New York. It is part of the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metropolitan area.

North Tonawanda, New York

North Tonawanda is a city in Niagara County, New York, United States. The population was 31,568 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is named after Tonawanda Creek, its south border. Tonawanda in the Seneca tongue means "Swift Running Water". Tonawanda Creek, which flows into the Niagara River, once had large stretches of rapids until it was tamed with the construction of the Erie Canal.

WNED-TV

WNED-TV is a Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) member Public television station in Buffalo, New York. Owned by the Western New York Public Broadcasting Association, it broadcasts on digital channel 43 from studios in downtown Buffalo and a transmitter located in Grand Island, New York. Until April 16, 2009, it was also broadcast on analog channel 17. In addition to Buffalo, WNED also has a substantial viewership in Southern Ontario, including Toronto; it identifies as "Buffalo/Toronto" on-air.

WNLO

WNLO is the CW-affiliated television station for Western New York licensed to Buffalo. It broadcasts a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 32 from a transmitter on the eastern side of Grand Island. However, master control and some internal operations for both are based at hub facilities within WISH-TV's North Meridian Street studios in Indianapolis, Indiana. Owned by the LIN TV Corporation, WNLO is sister to CBS affiliate WIVB and the two share studios on Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo.
