Akron Art Museum

The Akron Art Museum is an art museum in Akron, Ohio, USA. The museum first opened its doors on February 1, 1922, as the Akron Art Institute. It was located in two borrowed rooms in the basement of the public library. The Institute offered classes in arts appreciation which were organized by Edwin Coupland Shaw and his wife Jennifer Bond Shaw. It has grown considerably since that time.

James A. Rhodes Arena

James A. Rhodes Arena, commonly nicknamed "The JAR," is a basketball arena in Akron, Ohio on the campus of the University of Akron named for former Ohio governor Jim Rhodes. Chapel Hill Mall

Chapel Hill Mall is a one-story, 860,000 sq ft enclosed mall located at 2000 Brittain Road in Akron, Ohio. Built by Richard (R.B. ) Buchholzer and Forest City Enterprises, it opened on October 12, 1967. They continued to own the mall until 2004, when it was sold to the Chattanooga, Tennessee company CBL & Associates Properties, Inc.. The mall features more than 100 stores, with three anchor stores in JCPenney, Sears and Macy's.
