Mansfield, Ohio

Mansfield is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Richland County. The municipality is located in north-central Ohio in the western foothills of the Allegheny Plateau, approximately 66 miles southwest of Cleveland and 66 miles northeast of Columbus. It was founded in 1808 on a fork of the Mohican River in a hilly region surrounded by fertile farmlands, and became a manufacturing center owing to its location with numerous railroad lines.

Richland County is a county located in the state of Ohio, United States. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 124,475, which is a decrease of 3.4% from 128,852 in 2000. It is included in the Mansfield, Ohio, Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the Mansfield–Bucyrus Combined Statistical Area. It is named for the fertile soil found there. Its county seat is Mansfield.

Ohio State University, Mansfield Campus

The Ohio State University at Mansfield is a regional campus of The Ohio State University located in Mansfield, Ohio. It was founded in 1958 as a land-grant college. Its 644-acre campus is situated in the western foothills of the Allegheny Plateau, the North Central Ohio region, with easy access to Columbus and Cleveland. The campus offers seven bachelor degree programs and three master degree programs.

Mansfield Motorsports Park

The former Mansfield Motorsports Park (known as Mansfield Motorsports Speedway prior to 2007) closed in 2010. The facility is a half-mile oval racetrack located in Mansfield, Ohio, United States. Featuring moderately high banks and a wide racing surface, it is suitable for close racing and passing. The track hosts an ARCA RE/MAX Series race in 2009. It also hosted the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series from 2004 to 2008.

Lexington, Ohio

Lexington is a village in Richland County in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is part of the Mansfield, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 4,822 at the 2010 census, an increase from 4,165 in 2000. The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is located just outside of Lexington in Troy Township.
