Ashfield, Pennsylvania is an uncorporated community in East Penn Township, Carbon County located south of Lehighton and west of Bowmanstown on Route 895 at the northern foot of Blue Mountain. The Lizard Creek flows east through Ashfield into the Lehigh River. Although the village has its own box post office with the zip code of 18212, some residents are served by the Lehighton post office with the zip code of 18235.

Weissport, Pennsylvania

Weissport is a borough in Carbon County, Pennsylvania, United States. The town was founded in 1792 by Col. Jacob Weiss. This particular area was located between Lehighton, Parryville, and Longrun. Soon after the town itself was established and the first wooden bridge over the river to the town was built in 1805, along with the first post office, taverns, banks, and stores all by 1812. Also, within the first twenty years this town was established as a vital part of the canal industry.

Lehigh Tunnel

The Lehigh Tunnel is a pair of road tunnels that carries the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension under Blue Mountain north from Interstate 78 to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area between mileposts 70.7 to 71.5. Originally a single tunnel that opened to traffic in 1957, it was called the Lehigh Tunnel to avoid confusion with the existing Blue Mountain Tunnel on the mainline. The tunnel was "twinned" in 1991 to allow two lanes of traffic in each direction.
