Saint Johns Cemetery, Union County

St. John Cemetery is a Catholic cemetery located in Prairie Township, Union County, South Dakota. The cemetery is one of four adjacent cemeteries, which are a mile south and a mile east of Beresford, South Dakota. Of these four, St. John is the cemetery which is farthest west. The earliest known burial is that of a child named Felix Phillip Mangan in 1886.

Clay County, South Dakota

Clay County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of the 2010 census, the population was 13,864. Its name is in honor of Henry Clay, American statesman, member of the United States Senate from Kentucky and United States Secretary of State in the 19th century. The county seat is Vermillion, which is also home to the University of South Dakota. Clay County is coextensive with the Vermillion Micropolitan Statistical Area.
