Saint Johns Cemetery, Union County

St. John Cemetery is a Catholic cemetery located in Prairie Township, Union County, South Dakota. The cemetery is one of four adjacent cemeteries, which are a mile south and a mile east of Beresford, South Dakota. Of these four, St. John is the cemetery which is farthest west. The earliest known burial is that of a child named Felix Phillip Mangan in 1886.

Beresford is a city in Lincoln and Union counties in the U.S. state of South Dakota. The population was 2,005 as of the 2010 census. The southern two-thirds is part of the Sioux City, IA–NE–SD Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the northern one-third is part of the Sioux Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Beresford Republic is the weekly newspaper.

Canton is a city in and the county seat of Lincoln County, South Dakota, United States. Canton is located 20 minutes south of Sioux Falls in southeastern South Dakota. Canton is nestled in the rolling hills of the Sioux Valley, providing an abundance of recreational activities with the Big Sioux River bordering the eastern side, Newton Hills State Park to the south, and Lake Alvin to the north. The city was named by Norwegian settler and former legislator James M. Wahl.
