Rushmore Plaza Civic Center

The Rushmore Plaza Civic Center is a 150,000-square-foot exhibition center, in Rapid City, South Dakota. It contains a 10,000 seat, multi-purpose arena. It was built in 1977 and the grand opening event was an Elvis Presley concert on June 21. The Rushmore Plaza Civic Center is home to many large events including the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo, Lakota Nations Invitational, and the Black Hills Homebuilders Expo. It also showcases many motorcycles during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

KNBN

KNBN, channel 21, is the NBC affiliate in Rapid City, South Dakota. It is owned by Rapid Broadcasting, and is also the sister station to KWBH-LP. KNBN's transmitter is located in Rapid City. KNBN can also be seen on translators KKRA-LP on UHF channel 24 and K40GS-D on UHF channel 40; both stations are licensed in Rapid City, though K40GS-D mainly serves Lead and the Black Hills region.

Rapid City, South Dakota

Rapid City is the second-largest city in the state of South Dakota, and the county seat of Pennington County. Named after Rapid Creek on which the city is established, it is set against the eastern slope of the Black Hills mountain range. The population was 67,956 as of the 2010 Census. Rapid City is known as the "Gateway to the Black Hills" and the "City of Presidents". The city is divided by a mountain range that splits the western and eastern parts of the city into two.
