Seminole Trail Volunteer Fire Department

The Seminole Trail Volunteer Fire Department (STVFD) is a combination career-volunteer fire department in Albemarle County, Virginia. The department was founded in 1976 and protects the area of U.S. Route 29 immediately north of Charlottesville. With 2,577 unit responses in 2008, STVFD is the busiest station in Albemarle County. Its current chief is Douglas C. Smythers.
