Denbigh was a small unincorporated community in Warwick County, Virginia, and was long the county seat. After a municipal consolidation in 1958, it became a neighborhood of the independent city of Newport News.

Warwick County, Virginia

Denbigh High School (Newport News, Virginia)

Denbigh High School is a high school in Newport News, Virginia. Denbigh carries grades nine through twelve and has an enrollment of approximately 1,500 students. This school was rated "Fully Accredited" by the Virginia Department of Education for the 2005-2006 school year. Denbigh is the only host to the Aviation program in all of Newport News Public Schools. Denbigh High school is represented by their mascot, the Patriot.

Nicewood Park

Nicewood Park is a park in Newport News, Virginia. It is maintained by the Newport News Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism. Nicewood Park is located at the end of Nicewood Drive in Newport News. The park has a large grassy field, a basketball hoop, trash cans, swings, two slides, picnic tables, and many trees. The terrain is mostly flat, although to the right of the park's main entrance it becomes slightly hilly. To the right of the park is a stream which feeds into a sewer.

Richneck Plantation

Richneck Plantation was located on the Virginia Peninsula on the northern shore of the James River between Hampton Roads and Jamestown in the English colony of Virginia. The proprietor of Richneck Plantation was Robert Rich, second Earl of Warwick and a prominent member of the Virginia Company. The Warwick River, Warwick River Shire, and Warwick County were all named for him. Nearby, Warwick Towne was the first county seat.
