Prince George High School

Prince George High School is the only public high school in Prince George County, Virginia. The school has just over a thousand students. Prince George High School offers grades 10-12 rather than the traditional 9-12 high school. The current facility opened in 1976 and was expanded in the mid 1990s.

Beefsteak Raid

The Beefsteak Raid was a Confederate cavalry raid that took place in September 1864 as part of the Siege of Petersburg during the American Civil War. Confederate Maj. Gen. Wade Hampton led a force of 3,000 troopers on what was to become a 100-mile ride to acquire cattle that were intended for the consumption of the Union Army.
