Gig Harbor High School

Gig Harbor High School is a public high school in the Peninsula School District located in Gig Harbor, Washington. It was created in the summer of 1978 and originally was a 2A school, but is presently 4A. During its first year, the school enrolled eighth through eleventh graders. All seniors remained at Peninsula. The school's rivals are Peninsula High School (Purdy, Pierce County) and South Kitsap High School (Port Orchard, WA).

Tanglewood Island

Tanglewood Island is a small island in Hale Passage off the northern shore of Fox Island in Pierce County, Washington. The island was a summer home of Conrad L. Hoska (1856–1910), a prominent figure in the nearby city of Tacoma. From 1945 it hosted a boys' camp, and in the following year the lighthouse structure (pictured) was completed. The Geographic Names Information System lists several alternative names: Ellens Isle, Grant Island, Grave Island, and Hoska Island.

Gig Harbor, Washington

Gig Harbor is the name of both a bay on Puget Sound and a city on its shore in Pierce County, Washington, United States. The population was 7,126 at the 2010 census. Gig Harbor is one of several cities and towns that claim to be "the gateway to the Olympic Peninsula". Due to its close access to several state and city parks, and historic waterfront that includes boutiques and fine dining, it has become a popular tourist destination.
