Commencement Bay
Commencement Bay is a bay of Puget Sound in the U.S. state of Washington. The city of Tacoma is located on the bay, with the Port of Tacoma occupying the southeastern end. A line drawn from Point Defiance in the southwest to Browns Point in the northeast serves to mark the generally accepted division between the bay and the open sound. Old Town owes its name to the fact that it was the location of the original settlement called "Tacoma". In 1865, Job Carr built a cabin near the shore in anticipation of future land speculation due to the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad. (The replica of his cabin is built a few hundred yards south of its original site, which is marked by a plaque.

Puget Creek
Puget Creek is a small urban creek in the U.S. state of Washington, in the north end of Tacoma, It rises in Puget Park and flows north to Commencement Bay, part of Puget Sound. Its course follows a steep ravine containing Puget Gardens Park. The creek's course is mostly contained within the 66-acre natural area of Puget Gulch. Puget Creek is the focus of restoration work by the Puget Creek Restoration Society and community volunteers.

Stadium High School
Stadium High School is a 100-year-old high school in Tacoma, Washington and a historic landmark. It is part of Tacoma Public Schools, or Tacoma School District No. 10 and is located in the Stadium District, near downtown Tacoma. The original building burned to a shell while it was still a partially constructed hotel designed by Hewitt & Hewitt that was being used for storage. It was reconstructed for use as a school according to designs by Frederick Heath, and a "bowl" stadium was added.
