Brule River

The Brule River is a 52.3-mile-long river in the U.S. states of Michigan and Wisconsin. Nearly the entire course forms a portion of the boundary between the two states. The Brule begins at Brule Lake, just inside the Michigan border, at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:46|02|23|N|88|50|59|W| | |name= }}. It winds east and southeast until joining with the Michigamme River at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:45|57|12|N|88|11|46|W| | |name= }} to form the Menominee River.

Ski Brule

Ski Brule is a ski area located in Iron River, Michigan. Its claim to fame is that it tries to open earlier and close later in the season than other nearby ski hills. It has sixteen ski runs and eleven ski lifts. The trails include two black diamonds, two terrain trails through the woods (one is rated black diamond due to the trail width and a tight turn), six blue square trails, four green circle trails, and a snowboard arena.

WFER

WFER (1230 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a conservative Talk Radio format. Licensed to Iron River, Michigan, it first began broadcasting in 1949. The station's format changed in early July 2010 to talk from Adult Standards. WIKB had previously been a simulcast of WIKB-FM 99.1's oldies format until the stations were sold to Heartland Communications. Heartland continued the oldies format on AM 1230 while changing FM 99.1 to adult contemporary as "The Breeze.
