Mucurubá

Mucurubá is a community in Mérida state, Venezuela, in the foothills of the Cordillera Oriental. It is 2,407 m above sea level, about 32 kilometers from the city of Mérida. It is a parish within the Rangel Municipality. The name is derived from the words "muco" (place) and "ruba" (a tuber similar to potato) in the language spoken by the pre-Columbian inhabitants. The settlement was found in 1586 by Bartolomé Gil Naranjo.

Cordillera de Mérida

The Cordillera de Mérida is a series of mountain ranges, or massif, in northwestern Venezuela. The Cordillera de Mérida is a northeastern extension of the Andes Mountains. The ranges run southwest–northeast between the Venezuelan–Colombian border and the Venezuelan coastal range. The Táchira depression separates the Cordillera de Mérida from the Cordillera Oriental, which forms the Colombia–Venezuela border.

Rangel (Venezuela)

Rangel is one of the 23 municipalities of the Venezuelan state of Mérida. Its capital is the town of Mucuchíes. It has four parishes: Cacute, La Toma, Mucurubá and San Rafael. The municipality is named after the national hero Colonel José Antonio Rangel (1788-1821), who played a prominent role in the Venezuelan War of Independence.

The Mucuchies (Venezuelan Sheepdog) is a dog breed from Venezuela. They have a short coat with feathering along their limbs. The coat color is either white or white with splashes of colors such as honey or tan, or shades of black and gray.

Pico Pan de Azúcar

For other uses, see Pan de Azúcar The Pico Pan de Azúcar, at 4680 meters above sea level, is the ninth highest mountain of Venezuela, and the third highest of the Sierra de la Culata range in the Mérida State. Its name, which translates as "Bread of Sugar", is due to the sandy slopes of the mountain, which resembles "Pan dulce", a kind of bread sprinkled with sugar eaten in the country.
