Mailiao (麥寮鄉) is a township in northwestern Yunlin County, Taiwan. With a population of 33,210, Mailiao has an area of 80.1668 km. The township's chief industry is the Formosa Mailiao Refinery, an oil refinery that processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day; the refinery exports it goods via the township's harbour.

1904 Douliu earthquake

The 1904 Douliu earthquake was a magnitude 6.1 earthquake which struck central Taiwan at 04:25 on November 6, 1904. The quake caused widespread damage and killed 145 people, making it the fifth deadliest earthquake of the 20th century in Taiwan.
