The National Dong Hwa University, also Dong Hwa or NDHU (國立東華大學, Guólì dōnghuá dàxué), is a comprehensive public institution of higher learning on Taiwan's east coast. The school serves over 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The main Dong Hwa campus is located in Shoufeng township in the Papaya Creek Delta region of Hualien County. The Port of Hualien is one of the international ports in Hualien County, Taiwan. It is located in Hualien City, facing the Pacific Ocean in the east. It is an artificial harbor build in 1930–1939, protected by breakwaters. There are 25 wharves in Hualien Port. The annual container volume is about 13 million tons. The port mainly transports local gravel, cement, and marble. It also develops tourism and leisure industry, such as cruises and whale-watching boats.
