Pikes Peak International Raceway

Pikes Peak International Raceway, also known as PPIR, is a participant focused racetrack located in Fountain, Colorado, 20 miles south of Colorado Springs and 25 miles north of Pueblo. Before its temporary closure in 2005, the track hosted races in several series including the Indy Racing League and NASCAR's Busch and Truck series. In addition to its 1 mile, D-shaped oval, the infield forms part of a 1.3-mile road course and a 1/4-mile (0.4 km) short oval. Its grandstand capacity is 10,000.

Fountain, Colorado

The city of Fountain is a Home Rule Municipality located in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city's population was 25,846. Fountain is located 10 miles south of Colorado Springs and just east of Fort Carson. Fountain and the Colorado Springs suburbs Security and Widefield make up the "Fountain Valley" community.

Fort Carson

Fort Carson is a United States Army installation located near Colorado Springs, primarily in El Paso County, Colorado. It is 40 miles north of Pueblo, Colorado in Pueblo County. The 137,000-acre installation extends south into Pueblo and Fremont counties. The portion of the installation located within El Paso County forms a census-designated place (CDP), which had a population of 13,813 at the 2010 census.

North American Aerospace Defense Command

North American Aerospace Defense Command is a combined organization of Canada and the United States that provides aerospace warning, air sovereignty, and defense for the two countries. Headquarters NORAD and the NORAD/USNORTHCOM command center are located at Peterson Air Force Base in El Paso County, near Colorado Springs, Colorado. The nearby Cheyenne Mountain nuclear bunker has the Alternative Command Center.
