St. James Hotel (Cimarron, New Mexico)

The St. James Hotel, located in historic downtown Cimarron, New Mexico, is a historic hotel, restaurant and bar. It is known for its legendary status of being haunted by the spirits of men murdered there in the 19th century during northeastern New Mexico's "wild west" days. Today, guests can stay at the historic hotel, in either the historic section (main building with bar and restaurant) or in a modern addition (new building).

Philmont Training Center

The Philmont Training Center (PTC), located at the Philmont Scout Ranch near Cimarron, New Mexico, has been the National Training Center of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) since 1950. The PTC offers week-long training conferences from June through September for council, district, and unit volunteers, BSA professionals, and youth leaders with several conferences taking place each week.

Philmont Scout Ranch

Philmont Scout Ranch is a large, rugged, mountainous ranch located near the town of Cimarron, New Mexico, covering approximately 137,500 acres of wilderness in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of the Rocky Mountains of northern New Mexico. The ranch, formerly the property of oil baron Waite Phillips and now that of the Boy Scouts of America, is a National High Adventure Base in which crews of Scouts and Venturers take part in backpacking expeditions and other outdoor activities.

Tooth of Time

The Tooth of Time is an igneous intrusion of dacite porphyry formed in the Paleogene Period of the Cenozoic Era some 22-40 million years ago. The Tooth is located five miles (8 km) southwest of Cimarron, New Mexico, USA and is on the property of Philmont Scout Ranch, and is one of Philmont's most popular sights. The Tooth rises prominently from the valley floor, some 2,500 feet below, creating a sheer vertical face unable to support substantial plant life.
