The 2007 Shinwar shooting refers to the killing of a number of Afghan civilians by US Marines who were fleeing the scene of a bomb attack, in the Shinwar District of the Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan on 4 March 2007. Battle of Tora Bora
The Battle of Tora Bora was a military engagement that took place in Afghanistan from December 12, 2001 to December 17, 2001, during the opening stages of the War in Afghanistan launched by the United States following the September 11 attacks. The U.S. and its allies believed that Osama bin Laden, the founder of al-Qaeda and commander of the attacks, was hiding in the mountains at Tora Bora.
