Cooyar is a town in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia. The town is on the New England Highway and in the Toowoomba local government area, 204 kilometres north west of the state capital, Brisbane. At the 2006 census, Cooyar and the surrounding area had a population of 289.

Peranga, Queensland

Peranga is a small town on the Darling Downs, 70 kilometres north-west of Toowoomba and 55 km north-east of Dalby in Queensland, Australia. At the 2006 census, Peranga and the surrounding area had a population of 183. Once the prosperous hub of a rich dairy-producing area, Peranga went into sharp decline after the closure of the Oakey-Cooyar railway line in the mid-1960s. The hotel burnt down in 1967, followed by the school in 1973. Today, the township population numbers about fifty.

Quinalow

Quinalow is a town in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia. The town is located in the Toowoomba Region local government area and on the bank of Myall Creek, 201 kilometres north west of the state capital, Brisbane and 76 kilometres north west of the regional centre of Toowoomba. Quinalow was affected by the 2010–2011 Queensland floods. Rising floodwaters isolated the town, surrounding the Quinalow pub. Myall Creek was not thought to have risen as high as it did in the 1981 flood.

The Palms National Park

The Palms is a small national park located between Cooyar and Yarraman in Queensland, Australia. The main feature of the park is spring-fed gully filled with piccabeen palms. Strangler figs, bunya pines and hoop pines also predominate. The 12.4 ha park was proclaimed in 1950. The birdlife in the park is prolific. No camping is allowed in the park but picnics and bushwalks are catered for.
