Coal Creek, Victoria

Coal Creek is a small town in the South Gippsland area of Victoria, Australia, now essentially a suburb of Korumburra. Coal was discovered in the area in 1872, and the region subsequently developed an important coal mining industry. The mine at Coal Creek operated from the 1880s to the 1958, when operations ceased. A Post Office was open from 1894 to 1897. Coal Creek Heritage Village, a 15 hectare open air museum, was established at the site in 1974.

Kardella railway station

Kardella was a railway station on the South Gippsland line in South Gippsland, Victoria. The station was opened during the 1890s and operated until the 1970s. The platform, station building and all other rail infrastructure, sidings and goods storage shed were all removed from the station site within months of station closure. By 1980, there was no evidence of the existence of a railway station at the site, apart from a gravel road alongside the rail line nearby a level crossing in the locality.

Korumburra

Korumburra is a town in the Australian state of Victoria. It is located on the South Gippsland Highway, 120 kilometres kilometres south-east of Melbourne, in the South Gippsland Shire local government area. Surrounded by rolling green hills, the town is 227 metres above the sea level of coastal Inverloch, about 28 km away. At the 2006 census, Korumburra had a population of 4465.

The Shire of Korumburra was a local government area located about 115 kilometres southeast of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The shire covered an area of 613.8 square kilometres, and existed from 1891 until 1994.

Korumburra railway station

Korumburra is a heritage Listed railway station on the former South Gippsland line in South Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. The station has been part of the South Gippsland tourist railway since passenger operations on the line ceased beyond Cranbourne station in July 1993.
