Staughton Vale is in the northern rural suburb of Geelong, Victoria, Australia. It's local government area is the City of Greater Geelong. The post office at Staughton Vale opened on the 1/1/1873, closed on the 25/11/1873 reopened on the 14/7/1886, closed again on the 16/5/1891, opened again and renamed as Staughton Vale State School on 23/8/1905, renamed back to Staghton Vale then closed on 30/9/1968.

Brisbane Ranges National Park

The Brisbane Ranges National Park is a national park in Anakie, Victoria, Australia, 80 km west of Melbourne. The park is the responsibility of Parks Victoria. The park covers part of the Brisbane Ranges, an area of hills of moderate elevation. The park features a number of walking tracks, of which the walk through Anakie Gorge is the most popular. Other attractions include the Ted Errey Nature Circuit and Wadawurrung walk.

Balliang, Victoria

Balliang is a locality in Victoria, Australia. The locality is in the south-east of the Shire of Moorabool, north of the City of Greater Geelong and 54 kilometres from the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2006 census, Balliang had a population of 233. The locality was named for a house in Geelong owned by Foster Fyans, which was in turn named for Balliang (or Ballyang), who was an Aboriginal leader employed by Fyans. Balliang Post Office opened on 23 June 1910 and closed in 1968.

Anakie, Victoria

Anakie is a rural township between Geelong, Victoria, and Bacchus Marsh, Victoria, Australia. At the 2006 census, Anakie and the surrounding area had a population of 674. The name is believed to be derived from 'Anakie Youang', an expression in one of the local Australian Aboriginal languages, meaning 'little hill' or 'twin hills'. The nearby Brisbane Ranges National Park contains three hills known as The Anakies, as well as Mount Anakie.
