Lismore is a town in Victoria, Australia, located on the Hamilton Highway 170 kilometres west of Melbourne. It is part of the Corangamite Shire local government area. The town is located at a point equidistant from Geelong and Warrnambool. At the 2006 census, Lismore had a population of 513. At the 2001 census, Lismore had a population of 262. Foxhow, Victoria

Foxhow is a locality in Victoria, Australia, located 200 km south-west of Melbourne in an agricultural area at the northern end of Lake Corangamite. Foxhow Post Office opened around 1902 and closed in 1959 although an earlier office had a brief existence around 1870.

Derrinallum, Victoria

Derrinallum is a town in Victoria, Australia, located on the Hamilton Highway, in the Corangamite Shire. The town is the centre for the surrounding farming community and lies at the foot of Mount Elephant. Mount Elephant is a 240 m high conical breached scoria cone formed by an extinct volcano. At the 2001 census, Derrinallum had a population of 266. At the 2006 census, Derrinallum had a population of 557. The Post Office opened on 7 December 1868 but was named Tooliorook until 1873.

Mount Elephant

Mount Elephant is a 240 m high conical breached scoria cone formed by an extinct volcano, located 1 km from the town of Derrinallum in southwestern Victoria, Australia. It is a prominent landmark. Mount Elephant is an example of a scoria cone. Scoria cones are small volcanoes with relatively steep sides, usually formed as the result of a single major episode of volcanic activity. Scoria is a type of red/black lava containing many cavities (vesicles).
