Thaya

The Thaya is a river in Central Europe, tributary to the Morava River. It is about 235 km long and meanders from west to east in the border area between Lower Austria and South Moravia, but does not exactly follow the border in most parts. Its source is in two smaller rivers, namely the German Thaya (Deutsche Thaya) and the Moravian Thaya, the confluence of which is located at Raabs. Its name means "the inert".

Battle on the Marchfeld

The Battle on the Marchfeld at Dürnkrut and Jedenspeigen took place on 26 August 1278 and was a decisive event for the history of Central Europe for the following centuries. The opponents were a Bohemian (Czech) army led by the Přemyslid king Ottokar II of Bohemia and the Imperial army under the German king Rudolph I of Habsburg in alliance with King Ladislaus IV of Hungary.

Myjava (river)

The Myjava River is a river in western Slovakia and for a small part in the Czech Republic and left tributary of the Morava River. It rises in the White Carpathians near the village of Nová Lhota in Moravia, but crosses the Czech-Slovak border shortly afterwards and flows in a southern direction until the town of Myjava, where it enters the Myjava Hills and turns west.

Gajary

Gajary is a village and municipality in western Slovakia close to the town of Malacky in the Bratislava region. It lies around 40 km (25 statue miles) north-west of Slovakia's capital Bratislava close to the Austrian border. The village has around 3500 inhabitants.
