Dieveniškės Regional Park, established in 1992, covers 11,000 hectares in southeastern Lithuania near the city of Šalčininkai. Šalčininkai District Municipality is one of 60 municipalities in Lithuania. It has one of biggest Polish minority populations in Lithuania, with 31,223 or over 80% (2001 census) of the population claiming Polish ethnicity. Šalčininkai is the largest town in and the administrative center of the district. The south-eastern border of the municipality with Belarus creates a peninsular shape of Lithuanian territory almost completely surrounded by Belarus.

Jašiūnai Manor
Jašiūnai Manor is the neoclassical manor in Jašiūnai, Šalčininkai district of Lithuania, near River Merkys. The manor palace, designed by a famous architect Karol Podczaszyński, commissioned by the rector of the Imperial University of Vilna, Jan Śniadecki was built in 1824-1828, alongside with supporting buildings and a manor park. The manor had been a cultural center in the early 19th century.
