Ivyanets

Ivyanets is a township in the Valozhyn Raion of the Minsk Voblast, Belarus. It is located in a hilly and woody area on the river Volma. It has been known since the end of the 15th century as a privately owned settlement of the Sollohub family. Originally known as Givenech, presumably derived from Lithuanian gyventi – "to live".

Maladzyechna (air base)

Maladzyechna (also Molodechno) was an air base in Belarus located 8 km south of Maladzyechna. It was a 1960s-era attack or interceptor base. Towards the end of the Cold War it was plowed under for farmland. The geometrics remained visible on Google Earth imagery as of 2006, and a small propeller airplane was visible suggesting the airfield has remained as a minor airstrip.

Belarusian Ridge

The Belarusian Ridge (Russian: Белорусская гряда, Belaruskaya Gryada) is a line of terminal moraines in the northwest of Belarus. The feature is part of the East European Plain. This ridge, consisting of low, rolling hills, runs for about 500 km in the direction from west-southwest to east-northeast, from the area of the Brest region, which is close to the border of Poland to the Russian town of Smolensk.
