Wijnendale

Wijnendale is a village located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. It belongs to the municipality of Torhout. Wijnendale is situated at 4 km from the city center of Torhout, halfway in between this city center and Ichtegem. The village used to belong to the municipality of Ichtegem, but was moved to the municipality of Torhout in the 1970s. Wijnendale is situated on a plateau 40 meter above sea level, some 20 meter higher than the surrounding countryside.

Saint-André de Bruges Abbey

Saint-André de Bruges Abbey is a Benedictine Abbey of the Congregation of the Annunciation in Sint-Andries, Bruges, Belgium. The charter of the abbey was signed on February 22, 1100. Count Robert II of Flanders ratified it in June 1100. It was decided to build the abbey on the site of the Church of St. Andrew and St. Anne. The first monks arrived on August 17, 1117. In 1188, the abbey became independent of its mother abbey and a period of prosperity began.

Loppem Castle

Loppem Castle (Dutch: Kasteel van Loppem) is a castle situated in Loppem in the municipality of Zedelgem, near Bruges in West Flanders, in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It was built between 1859 and 1862 for Baron Charles van Caloen and his family, and designed by architects E.W. Pugin and Jean-Baptiste de Béthunein 1856. It is considered a masterpiece of civil Gothic Revival architecture.

VRT Zendstation Egem

The VRT Zendstation Egem is a 305 metres tall guyed mast used as a broadcast antenna. It broadcasts the radio and TV programs of the VRT and Q-Music, JOE fm, Radio Contact, Radio Nostalgie). There are also a number of antennas for mobile communications attached to the mast. It was built in 1973 and is located in Egem in Pittem, West Flanders, Belgium. It is the tallest structure in Belgium. The tower is owned and operated by Norkring België.
