Lake Bütgenbach is an artificial lake created by the damming of the Warche river in 1932. It is located near the village of Bütgenbach in Ardennes, Belgium. The lake is not far from the border of Germany. It is a popular tourist attraction, with water sports, including Kayaking and Windsurfing.

The Vennbahn is a former railway line that was built partly across German territory, but is now entirely in Belgium, because the trackbed of the line, as well as the stations and other installations, were made provisional Belgian territory in 1919 (permanent in 1922) under an article of the Treaty of Versailles. The World War II Battle of Lanzerath Ridge was fought on December 16, 1944, the first day of the Battle of the Bulge, near the town of Lanzerath, Belgium.
