Laguna Colorada

Laguna Colorada (Red Lagoon) is a shallow salt lake in the southwest of the altiplano of Bolivia, within Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve and close to the border with Chile. The lake contains borax islands, whose white color contrasts with the reddish color of its waters, which is caused by red sediments and pigmentation of some algae. Laguna Colorada is one of the Ramsar Wetlands of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention signed in 1971.

El Tatio

El Tatio is a geyser field located within the Andes Mountains of northern Chile at 4,200 meters above mean sea level. Contrary to some reports, it is not the highest-elevation geyser field in the world. Puchuldiza Geyser Field, Chile, and possibly several other fields are higher in elevation (Glennon, J.A. and Pfaff, R.M. , 2003). Tourists often visit the geysers while touring the nearby Atacama Desert and the village San Pedro de Atacama.

Tocorpuri

Cerros de Tocorpuri is a volcanic complex located along the border between Bolivia and Chile. Cerros de Tocorpuri's summit crater has a diameter of 1.4 km. On its west side lies a rhyolite lava dome called Cerro La Torta (Cake Hill), named so because of its cylindrical cake shape. Cerro La Torta has a volume of about 5 cu km and the height of this lava dome above the surrounding terrain is about 450 m. Its steep sides are covered with scree and its top surface is bumpy-ridged.

Sol de Mañana

Sol de Mañana, meaning Morning Sun in Spanish, is a geothermal field in Sur Lípez Province in the Potosi Department of south-western Bolivia. It extends over 10 km², between 4800m and 5000m height. {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:22.435014|S|67.75791|W||||| |primary |name= }} This area is characterized by intense volcanic activity and the sulphur springs field, not geysers as sometimes it can be read, is full of mud lakes and steam pools with boiling mud.
