Tsenovo, Ruse Province

Tsenovo (also transliterated Cenovo or Tzenovo) is a village in northeastern Bulgaria, part of Rousse Province. It is the administrative centre of Tsenovo municipality, which lies in the western part of Rousse Province. It is located along the lower course of the Yantra River, in the central Danubian Plain, 32 kilometres from Svishtov and 45 kilometres from the provincial capital of Rousse.

Battle of Svistov

The Battle of Svistov was a battle of the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878. It was fought between the Ottoman Empire and Imperial Russia on 26 June 1877. It occurred when Russian general Mikhail Ivanovich Dragomirov crossed the Danube River in a fleet of small boats and attacked the Turkish fortress. The next day, Mikhail Skobelev attacked, forcing the Turkish garrison to surrender. In result, the Russian military became ready to attack Nikopol.

Zavet (town)

Zavet is a town in northeastern Bulgaria, part of Razgrad Province and located in the geographic region of Ludogorie. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Zavet Municipality, which lies in the northern part of Razgrad Province. Zavet is situated in the western Ludogorie Plateau, 12 kilometres from Isperih and Kubrat and 35 kilometres from Tutrakan and Razgrad. Zavet used to be a village in 1970s, when Ostrovo was the municipal centre.
