Crystal City, Manitoba

Crystal City is a village in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It is located on Highway 3, 16 kilometres north of the Canada-U.S. border border and 200 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg. The village is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Louise. Crystal City was established in 1879. Thomas Greenway, the village's founder, later became its provincial representative in the Manitoba Legislature and later Premier of Manitoba. Crystal City is a village on an angle.

Rural Municipality of Louise

Louise is a rural municipality in the province of Manitoba in Western Canada. It is located in the southern part of the province, on the border with the state of North Dakota in the United States. The 2006 Census reported a population of 819 persons, a 17.2% decline from the 2001 Census figure of 989 persons. The town of Pilot Mound and the village of Crystal City are located geographically within the municipality, although they are not administratively part of it.

Sarles, North Dakota

Sarles is a city in Cavalier and Towner counties in the U.S. state of North Dakota. The population was 28 at the 2010 census. Sarles was founded in 1905 at the end of the Great Northern railway extension north of Munich, North Dakota, called the "Sarles Branch". The town is named for North Dakota Governor Elmore Y. Sarles.
