Western Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador

Western Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador was a farming and fishing settlement in Bay de Verd, about 13 miles north of Carbonear, on the north side of Conception Bay. It was a Postal town established in 1864. It had a population of 965 in 1901 and 508 in 1956. E.J. Pratt, who has been called "the foremost Canadian poet of the first half of the [twentieth twentieth] century", was born in Western Bay, where his father was a Methodist minister, on February 4, 1882.

Small Point-Adam's Cove-Blackhead-Broad Cove

Small Point-Adam's Cove-Blackhead-Broad Cove is a town in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, located in the Trinity-Conception Bay District north of Carbonear. The town was incorporated in 1968 by amalgamating the independent fishing villages of Small Point, Adam's Cove, Blackhead and Broad Cove. The neighbouring community of Kingston was originally part of the amalgamation, but withdrew in 1976. The town had a population of 438 in the Canada 2006 Census.

Ochre Pit Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador

Ochre Pit Cove is located in Conception Bay in the Bay de Verde area. The community derives its name from the red colour of its soil which is caused by its high iron content.

Northern Bay Sands

Northern Bay Sands is a popular beach and campgrounds in Northern Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. In 1775, a ship supposedly crashed off the coast of the beach due to the Great Hurricane of 1775. Throughout the 19th and early 20th century the beach was used as a site for gutting, cleaning and salting fish in the small-boat cod fishery. After Confederation, the beach became a provincial park.
